How Do I Get Rid Of System Icons?

How do I delete the Icons of choice at the bottom of the screen next to the clock?

Those icons are called System Icons and that area is known as a System Tray. We aren’t really going to be deleting them, so much as hiding them.

You can choose to turn System Icons off completely.  Go to the search box in your Start Menu or Search Charm and type “Turn system Icons on or off.” Then click on the search result.

The Taskbar and Start Menu properties window will open. Choose customize.

Another window will open. At the bottom, choose Turn System Icons on or off.

Next to each icon, you’ll have the option to turn it on or off.

You can also choose to add icons for other items, such as security programs, to your system tray from the notifications area window.
