Continuing the tradition of sweet names for Android operating systems, Google has proudly unveiled Android 5.0 – Lollipop.  Google says their latest operating system should interact easily with everything from phones to tablets to TV.

It should also have a consistent look thanks to a design initiative that Google calls Material Design. The company is incredibly excited about, but it’s unlikely most users will even notice it at all. Google says the new operating system will now be more responsive and more fluid between tasks. But that’s likely to mean micro-seconds.

Lollipop does have some cool new features. You can now adjust your settings so that notifications only come through from certain people at certain times of the day. There’s also a new battery saver features that could extend battery life by 90 minutes depending on he device.

A new security feature allows you to pair your phone to a trusted device like a smartwatch.  Lollipop will be running on the new Nexus 6 phone and  Nexus 9 tablets. No word from phone manufacturers when updates to Lollipop will be available and for what devices.
