Apple is launching its thinnest tablet yet, the iPad Air 2 is 1/4 of an inch thick and weighing less that a pound, the company says it is the thinnest tablet in the world. The new iPad Air 2 has an improved Retina display and will be available in gold silver and gray colors.


The camera has been upgraded to an 8 mp and includes new features like panorama, time-lapse and slo-mo video. and the display has an anti-reflective coating to prevent glare. Apple says glare could be reduced by as much as 56%.

The new iPad should also be faster, thanks to a new A8X chip, which the company says more than doubles CPU performance with a 10 -hour battery life.


The device also features the Touch ID fingerprint identification. Apple is especially proud of the continuity feature that works with OSX that allows you to start a project or movie on your Mac and pick it up again in the same place on your iPhone or iPad.


There’s also a new iPad Mini 3 available. The iPad Air 2 starts at $99 for the Wi-Fi model and run up to $829 for the 128 GB  for the Wi-Fi plus cellular models.  iPad Mini 3 will start at #99 and can range up to $729 for the 128 GB model with Wi-Fi & cellular.
